Chateau Leoville Barton St Julien GCC 2020, 6 x 75cl

With 300 years of family heritage, Château Leoville Barton is looked after by the 10th generation of the Barton family. Located in the heart of St Julien, the 50ha of land has a clayey gravel subsoil, and slopes facing the Gironde river, allowing excellent growing conditions. This wine is a blend of 85.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14.5% Merlot, and was aged for 16-18 months in French oak barrels, 60% new.

Tasting Notes:

Silky tannins, quiet classicism, juicy black fruits, crushed rocks, liquorice and mint, beautiful definition. What an example of how good St Julien can be in this vintage, with rose peal and tomato leaf aromatics also. Brilliant. Right up alongside their excellent 2019.
